Picking up a rental on a Sunday works the same as any other day of the week. If you simply want a car for one relaxed beach day, the paperwork is done before you sit behind the wheel.
Why Sunday is a good day to have a car
Sunday is family day across the Dominican Republic. Local families head to the sand early, share long lunches, and stay until the light softens. With your own car you set the pace: leave when the beach is still quiet, stop at a roadside stand that catches your eye, and move on to the next cove whenever you feel like it. Buses and shared rides thin out later in the day, so having wheels of your own removes the guesswork from getting back before dark.
What to plan around on a Sunday
A few things run on a slower rhythm. Large supermarkets and mall shops often keep shorter Sunday hours, so a bigger grocery run is easier to handle on Saturday. The neighbourhood colmado, though, stays open for cold drinks, ice, and small essentials, and beach shacks and food stalls are usually at their busiest. If your route uses a toll road, keep some pesos in cash within reach.

Delivery and handover on a Sunday
We schedule delivery to your hotel or the airport for the Sunday time that suits you, and the car arrives checked over and fuelled. The rate already includes collision and liability cover with a fixed excess, unlimited mileage, and delivery across Punta Cana and Bavaro, so a Sunday booking carries no extra conditions. The main driver should be at least 21, with a surcharge for drivers under 25, and should bring a driving licence, a passport, and a credit card in the driver's own name. When your day by the water is over, we collect the car with its tank topped up. Book a little ahead when you can, because Sundays are popular and a specific model or delivery slot goes faster on a busy weekend.

I would definitely recommend this rental place. With so many scary tourists horrible stories go here. I’m from Houston. They drop off to you and pick up from you. They stayed in contact before drop and before pick up. While I documented any prior damages to the car, the guy talked me through them. Saying yes this scratch was there etc.
